jbanes
Hi All! This was posted over on WiiCade, but I thought that folks here might be interested in it. As of right now, a few development demos for the multiplayer server are now available to the public. They're being released partly to show you guys a bit about what's going on behind the scenes, and partly to stress test my code. So as of right now, you're all my guinea pigs. ( MWHAHAH! ) There are currently two programs available. The first one is a chat forum which you can use to connect and speak with other members. The other is a simple "Guess the Number" game where one person enters a number between 1 and 100, and the other person tries to guess. You can use any username to log into the system. It doesn't require a password, and will automatically rename you if there is a name collision. Note that both games are fairly primitive. They're simple examples intended to demonstrate multiplayer code to the programmers working with the server. So don't expect anything too incredible. The "real" games are still under wraps in development. For you propeller heads out there, you may note that there are two versions of each game. One is in Flash and the other is in Javascript. The two are almost exactly the same interface-wise. They only differ in terms of the underlying technology. All versions should be compatible with all major web browsers, including the Nintendo Wii. So, without further ado, here are the links: Chat http://java.dnsalias.com:8080/wiicade/chat.swf http://java.dnsalias.com:8080/wiicade/chat.html Guess the Number http://java.dnsalias.com:8080/wiicade/multijs.html http://java.dnsalias.com:8080/wiicade/multiplayer.swf I hope to see you all online!
