Gorf: Good News and Bad news....

Recommended Posts

First the bad news....

Gusbucket 13, a mench and a true gentleman, was kind enough to send me,

at no cost a Jag CD ROM drive for the CF charity. That is not the bad news.

The bad news is that when I went to test every thing to send to Midway the

drive would not work on any of my Jags here.

That delayed me a few days. GB you still rule anyway and I can't thank you

enough for the generous and gracious offer and come through!!! You will still

get that copy regardless. Perhaps you can PM me as I opened it up to see if I

could spot anything and it all looked fine. It seems the disc motor wont turn

but the lazer is definitely moving up and down at boot time.

No worries brother....I 've decided to plunge further into this deal......read on....

Now the good news:

The Jaguar, controller, MY personal CD ROM drive(Neil is cetainly worth it),

two adapters, an A/V cable and a Blue Copy of Gorf were shipped to today

to the Midway VP of Licensing. So we are on our way to finding out if this

will be possible. This will be the first phase of three. Next is Namco for

Galaxian (Gorf's 'Galaxians' Mission) and then over to Taito for Space Invaders

(the Gorf's Astro Battles Level.)

Keep praying!!!

As always, your interest and support are greatly appreciated.

Try pulling the laser away from you some time the gears get stuck I did this to free my gears but don't do this too much or you'll strip the gears.

Gorf: Are they going to ship the Jaguar and CD Drive hardware back to you when they have finished checking it out, just wondering.

If I understand correctly yes. Though I am really not counting on it. It is not hard for a big company to lose

stuff.

"lose" stuff into someones collection at home that is. But it's not like it's not worth it for them to give the OK on the game and if anything I would find it flatering that they kept it. :) Keep on, keepin' on Gorf

Gorf,

don't like to nit-pick

:rolling:

Yeah right!!! You just love to live up to two middle syllables of your name, don't you.

Appropriate indeed!

and correct other peoples grammar,

but if you USAers insist on using German words, it's: Mensch

Lovely now go rain on someone elses parade will you? :D

don't like to nit-pick and correct other peoples grammar, but if you USAers insist on using German words, it's: Mensch
And if you're going to insist on using English, don't forget the apostrophe in the possessive.
'arse' (first syllable),

"Arse" is British, of course, and we spell it and say it without the "r" thus USAer's say "ass" in the US which is your AA usernames' second syllable not the first. Spelling really has nothing to do with how a words' consonates & vowels form syllables, that's why a dictionary many times gives you the wrong spelling when showing you how to pronounce a word - usually shown in parenthesis.

wrong spelling

We are just talking about how it sounds not how it's spelled. :)

Tomasholzer breaks down into four syllables: Tom - as - hol - zer Of course consonates and vowels form the syllables.

My 2nd grade teacher used to tell me to - sound it out.

Tom - first syllable

as - second syllable

hol - third syllable

zer - fourth syllable

If we take the second & third syllables and put them together, we have: "as" & "hol" or as it would be sounded out "ashole" or "asshole."

So, yes although it was a clever punn of syllables Gorf picked out of your AA name he was quite right in how it sounds when you remove the first and last syllables. ;)
