schaltegger
So I took my handy-dandy Radio Shack multimeter to the power supply of my 7800 and it's outputing 13.6 volts despite being rated for 9 VDC. Anyone have any idea what the usual range is for 7800 power supplies? How about some idea about the internal components of the 7800 - do they tolerate over- or under-voltage well at all, or do I need to rig up/find/buy a new power supply before I give the machine a whirl? +-^CrossBow^-
That voltage reading sounds fine... You have to remember that the voltage rating on the adapter is the volts the transformer will output under load. That is...when you actually have it plugged up and the 7800 turned on..it should be putting out a steady 9 - 10 volts. So that 13+ volt reading isn't unusual at all... I say plug it in...and give it a whirl.
