Varan
FaceOff '99 doesn't load correctly on my PS2. Works fine on PS1. Anyone else have this problem? What other games don't work?
mos6507
I've heard that most of the games that won't work are those that use the hires interlaced mode. Fortunately, most games don't feature this in anything besides menu screens.
Buyatari
There is a complete list of PS1 games which are incompatable with the PS2 in some way on the SCEA web site. There are around 7 the most notable are. FF tactics? Judge Dread and Silent Hill I know people have played FF Tactics on the PS2 so maybee they fixed it for the Greatest hits version? Any other ideas here? Adam
Osbo
my roommate gave me a ps1 that he couldn't play in his ps2, i don't remember the name right now, it's a figthing game from Acclaim, the disk says 'the dark side of 3d fighthing' and the game kinda sucks by the way Osbo
Tempest
FF Tactics works just fine on my PS2. It is the Greatest Hits version BTW. Tempest
Buyatari
@Tempest - This could be another reason why FF Tactics 2 wasn't released. It might not have been compatible withthe PS2. Adam
ubersaurus
Is the fighting game called Thrill Kill?
Buyatari
I have a few prototypes of Thrill Kill in varius stages however I still don't have a PS2 test unit so I can't be sure ifit would work on a PS2. However, there were only 6 or 7 games out of the entire PS1 library that had problems so I would say chances are high it would work on a PS2. RJ
According to Game Informer #94, the following won't work on PS2: Arcade Party Pak (Toobin') Arcade Greatest Hits: Atari Collection 2 (Paperboy) Fighter Maker Final Fantasy Anthology International Track & Field Judge Dredd Monkey Hero Mortal Kombat Trilogy Tomba! I discoverd the first 2 for myself (I really wanted Toobin'!) I also have been successful in playing Silent Hill on the PS2, but I "boot" w/ another disc. Right now it's being temperamental & won't work...
PistolPete
my roommate gave me a ps1 that he couldn't play in his ps2, i don't remember the name right now, it's a figthing game from Acclaim, the disk says 'the dark side of 3d fighthing' and the game kinda sucks by the way Iron & Blood, I think. The fact that the PS2 rejects that p.o.s. is good news.
Markimus of K.
Yeah, I'll second the vote, Iron & Blood it is and it does. (suck that is) As Always, Markimus of K.
StanJr
The old Madden Football games 2000 and back, do not work. They are mega glitchy and crash.
