SINGLE TOOTH
I had the same 7800 for about 13 years, and ever since I have had it, the cartridge teeth have been busted off of the system. This proved to be VERY aggravating because it was a bitch trying to get any games with dust covers inserted. But I have finally remedied the problem. After several failed attempts of restoring the broken teeth, I have discovered a rudimentary way that works and doesn't break right away. First I took a paper clip and cut 2 1 inch pieces of wire off. Then I held the piece of wire in a pliers while I got it red-hot under a butane torch. While the wire is still hot, plunge it into the plastic where the teeth used to be. This is the most crucial part of the process, so try and keep the wire straight. Give it a few minutes to cool. Then I straightened the wire carefully, and trimmed them down to about 1/4 inch. Then I covered the area with 2 part epoxy and allowed time to set. Carts will now insert into the system once again!
