Lynx Repair - Stick button

Howdy!

 

My 'down' button is unfortunately stuck down. I assume this is an easy fix, I just need some tips on getting my Lynx open. Its a Lynx 2 btw. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks,

To open the Lynx II, peel off the rubber handgrips on the back. You'll see four screws to remove. Open the battery compartment and remove the one screw there as well. Now you should be able to get the two halves apart.

 

What you need to do is get to the magnets under the joypad, and gently clean all four contacts with an eraser. I'd also clean the magnets under the A and B buttons while you're at it. Put your Lynx back together, and voila! all should be happy again.

I've actually done this once to my Lynx years ago. The only worrysome part as I recall was the big ribbon connecting the video to the logic board. But I remember it being a fairly easy operation (and I almost never open my electronics - I'm not that handy)...
