+atari2600land
I've got a rough draft of what I want the logo to look like, but I need it prettied-up. So, here's this contest. Whoever can make the prettiest design will have their design as the official Aegis Games logo. This contest will end Oct 1. HrdCorHillbilly
I had some time to spare this morning, so I thought I would test out a few simple designs. Edited July 4, 2007 by HrdCorHillbilly
+Random Terrain
I thought you had to give a prize to the winner, but if the only prize is just being the winner, I might have to have my own contest one of these days.

How about the winner also gets a little cash, say $10 or $15?
Dragnerok X
Though I don't think I have the Talent (Art skills) needed to enter this contest, here are a few "ae"-related logos for inspiration.

Whoever can make the prettiest design will have their design as the official Aegis Games logo. This contest will end Sept. 1. Since "aegis" refers to a shield in mythology, I figure the "AE" logo should probably involve a shield, or shields, in some manner-- such as putting the "ae" on a shield, or having the round parts of the "a" and the "e" be shields. Dragnerok X
Oh, I guess it was supposed to be "aG,"... Well in that case, here are a few shield-like "ag" logos.
+atari2600land
Oh, I guess it was supposed to be "aG," with the "G" looking like the "a" reversed! Anyway, here is my entry... No, it's an ae, if you look at an 'e' upside down, it kinda looks like an a (especially in Times New Roman, or Verdana.) That's what I was trying to capture, kinda like the loop-de-loop logo thingee on an Apple keyboard button.

+atari2600land
Yes, like that. I figure something similar could be done with an a and an e, which (at least I think) looks like an upside down a in some fonts, so that's what I was trying to do with the pic in post #1. I kinda like that logo, but I hastily (and crappily) drew it with MS Paint.
A.J. Franzman
Here's one I modified from the "animal evaluation" logo in post #5: and one that's a sort of fusion of the one above and your original sketch: and one from the "Athletic Elite" (or is it "Elite Athletic"?) logo: and one that's more heavily based on the Apple "Command Key" symbol: Edited August 29, 2007 by A.J. FastRobPlus
How about going with the original Aegis game company's logo? I think they are dead now. Edited July 9, 2007 by FastRobPlus
SeaGtGruff
Here's my second entry. The top part is a round shield ("aegis" more or less refers to a shield) with a stylized "ae" in it. Then below the shield is a repeat of the "ae" but with a reflection of it as well, so that it says "aegis" (the "e" is an upside down "a," the "g" is a reflected "e," the "i" is part of the reflected "a," and the "s" is the rest of the reflected "a"). I think it looks like it's written in runes or something. Michael
PressureCooker2600
The logo needs to be dripping buckets of blood. I know you made GoSub! but did you also make the original game that Alien Greed is a hack of?

+atari2600land
The original was Ants, one of my first video game making attempts, but modified greatly to what it is now.

+atari2600land
@MRB: Logos #1 and 3 look similar to the American TV network CBS's logo. Make it a perfect circle with the black width the same all around and that would be great. I, too, like the eclipse one, but haven't made a final decision yet as there's still a week to go for submissions. CBS's logo:
