Here is a classic Space Invaders Cab converted to DD, someone needs to buy this and put SI back into it, the Sideart looks great (sans a few scratches) !!!

 

DD is a great game, but hardly as classic. IMO

tsk tsk. Yep it really is too bad.

 

However, in my opinion it would be too much hassle, and money than it's worth to get that one back to a Space Invaders. Luckily though, Midway Space Invaders (which is what that is) are still relatively common! Just do a search in ebay every week under Home > All Categories > Collectibles > Coin-Op, Banks & Casino > Coin-Operated > Arcade and you'll see what I mean.

 

However if it had been a TAITO Space Invaders, that would have been an entirely different story. The Taito's had nicer cabinet artwork and the moon background was slightly different as well. Plus they are relatively rare in the States. Now THAT would have been a total abomination!

 

Oh here's the differences between the two if you're interested (my apologies if these are your pics) ...
