brett6400
Hi everyone! Where are the best places to find Atari 2600 consoles and cartridges? Garage sales, thrift stores, surplus sales, etc.? Of course, eBay. I live around Boston and don't see many Atari 2600s for sale in The Want Advertiser. brett6400

Philflound
If you are just starting, Ebay is a great place to find a unit with a huge selection of games. Many sellers have a "working" unit or so they say and will usually throw in anywhere from 10-100 games with it. You can also find most of the rarer games there. On the other hand, once you have a "working" unit and a bunch of games 50-100, you'll want to start looking elsewhere to acquire games, especially if you don't care to get doubles, triples, etc... I've made lists of places on many threads here. So I'll just do it again. Thrift store (salvation army, etc) Antique store garage/yard/estate sales flea markets advertising friends/co-workers (yes, your friends and co-workers may have these hidden in closets or attics and they would be happy to let you have it)
atarimastermarty
ebay buy far. But thats not the funnest. Theres no feeling on earth like finding a rarity 5 or hifgher at a thrist store. But then theres always times at garage sales when theyre like "sum guy" just bought a box of games. Like it's not bad enough that you missed it but the%$$^%$%# morons rub it in your face SCREW SUM GUY SCREW SUM GUY SCREM HIM TO HELL AND IN HELL THERES NO ATARI! SO HE CANT PLAY THOSE GREAT GAMES AND THEN THEYLL BE GARBAGE AND I CAN JUST LAUGH AND LAUGH AND LAUGH AND LAUGH SCREW SUM GUY
PackratVG
If you don't want to worry about the hassle that can sometimes occur with eBay, there is also a large assortment of online dealers with secure ordering and money-back guarantees. Check out the dealers section on the links section of this website. I of course have to drop a plug for my website - www.packratvg.com. Good luck! brett6400
Thanks everyone for your responses. I'm up for hitting the thrift stores and garage sales. Does anyone know where to find a list of garage sales in New England? I don't see listings in the Boston Globe, etc. Short of just randomly driving around all weekend, there has to be a listing somewhere published weekly. brett6400
ATARIPITBULL
Have you also tried Yahoo, Atari2600.com & WorldofAtari.com, these places always have 2600 games and extras for sale.
Cassidy Nolen
I have some spare ones, too. If you are looking for anything in specific, let me know. Might be able to help. I have (for some odd reason) One of each model system (heavy sixer, Vader, 4 switch woody, jr.) tons of loose carts, some boxed carts, controllers, LMK if you are interested.
