shadow460
Anyone know it? I grabbed a Genesis 3 today that doesn't have any hookups, but it does have a controller. I've got one Genny game, and I figure I may as well use the thing. It didn't have a price on it, so it was free!
+FujiSkunk
The Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 use the same A/V cable. You can Google up A/V pin-outs on the Genesis 2 cable, or just hit eBay for a cable.
shadow460
Any similarity to the Saturn, I wonder?

I'm pretty sure the genny3 is only mono audio though.
+FujiSkunk
Any similarity to the Saturn, I wonder? Unfortunately no; neither cable will fit the other console, even though they look similar. That I don't know, but if it's true, you can find mono cables designed for the Genesis 2 easily enough.
Drewman21
The first run of the Genny 3 had stereo outs and they took it out of the later runs. It has a sony chip that tapped pretty easily for S-video out. Makes a cool little system. They have info for the pin outs at nfggames.com/wiki and here Eviltim. EmOneGarand
Any similarity to the Saturn, I wonder? nope, the Genesis 2 A/V is proprietary or a kind of DIN rarely used.. it's that damn "shelf" of metal that runs along the bottom part of the DIN that makes using anything else difficult Edited July 31, 2007 by EmOneGarand
