Rarity Rating ?

Hi,

i asked myself how you rate the rarity of a game ! Did you rate on personal expirience or the market situation or ?

I don't understand why a Gremlins for example is rated by 6 only and a Gas Hog has a 8 - Waterworld even a 9 - i mean i've seen so much Gas Hogs flying around - man - i can throw you to dead with all the carts and gremlins .. hmmm... not 10% as much as Gas Hog.

I've seen lots of Waterworlds, Quadruns, Crazy Climbers and also Silver Gravitars with boxes and instructions but when did you see a Gremlins Box ?

I'm really interested in your way of rating. :?

greetings

Tom

Just a guess, but it is most likely a regional thing if you find a Gas Hog or two. I have never seen one in the wild, and only a few for trade in various places.

Games like Chase the Chuckwagon, to me, are simply expensive. I know they are rare, but apparently, there are enough you can have one when you are willing to pay the market price. Compare them to diamonds, if you will. They are available, but carry a price tag. Plenty of people are happy with the emulator versions, but for those willing to pay, you can have the real deal.

I would imagine ratings are subjective.

It's based on many things, such as how often it appears on internet auction sites, in the collections of other people, trade meets, user input, etc.

Are you talking about German rarity or North American? The Gremlins you see on the site is for the NTSC version, and refers to rarity in North America. The PAL version may be much harder to find.

Gas Hog is tricky even in North America because it is very rare in the US, but less so in Canada. But the rating is really for North America, so perhaps it should be lower. We welcome user input, but perhaps you could clarify your question a bit.

Hi,

for the Gremlins it doesn't matter if PAL or NTSC i didn't see neither of them on ebay (Its the BOX i'm talking about the game i've seen often also incl the manual but never the damned BOX :x

And the GAS HOG was PAL for example, the Waterworlds, Quadruns and Crazy Climbers were always NTSC if i've seen them on Ebay.

Hope this helps to specify :)

greetings

Tom
