blackcube
I apologize if this has been answered in some other forum section. I did some searching and didn't see an answer that is quite what I am seeking. Can the ROM file (*.bin) on this site and others be burned to EEPROM chips or have they been modified for emulators only? Is the *.bin format the proper one to burn to EEPROM or do they need to be converted to some other format? I have access to a couple of different types of PROM burners that support the chips sold here and have been considering burning a few carts for my own use and enjoyment. Thanks

No Is the *.bin format the proper one to burn to EEPROM or do they need to be converted to some other format? Maybe... There isn't really a "*.bin format"... they're just raw dumps of the contents of the original ROM chips. Depending on your burner and its software, you may be able to use raw dumps, or you may have to turn them into something like Intel HEX format, or Motorola S-records... If your burner requires one of these formats, though, it probably came with software that can do the conversion for you.

I have been doing more research and had come to mostly the same conclusion. It is nice to have them confirmed. The last PROM I burned was in 1984 for a Tandy M100 and my skills in that area have gotten rusty.
