that is amazing stuff, great art. is there anyway you can explain how you draw like that. I've noticed a lot of pixel art on the net lately but my method of drawing pixelart is crazy time consuming. Do you have a faster method that doesn't involve actually drawing each pixel one at a time? It drives me nuts

thanks

However, the collector made a fatal mistake of saying, "Was it the rare Crazy Climber?", instead of just playing dumb.

Yeah, a real collector would never announce the rarity like that, but hopefully it will allow a few more people to "get" the strip. Think of it as an "artistic concession" rather than selling out. :)

Actually all the strips have been created entirely in MS Paint, and yes, it can be somewhat tedious. I try to make use of all the tools and Zoom In/Out often. Paint is capable of doing more than some might realize, but it would definitely be nice to graduate to Illustrator.

Those strips come out very very small and are really hard to read on a high resolution

The strips are a little larger starting with this one, so hopefully that will help. I admit, the old micro-text was hard to read.

Thanks for the comments King Atari, JCroniger, ATARIPITBULL, StanJr (wow, 5 Spideys - thanks), liquid_sky, cmgill, Fretwobbler, Albert, monster greifen an, and NE146.

It's true. I've fudged photographics, made Gif base art, did mockups for my 5200 game, did lots using good old free MS Paint. I'm sure there are better things to use, but Paint came through for me many times.

Getting back to the subject, Randy! That is SO FUNNY! You got the gift, that's fer sure. So many comics don't make me laugh. Like take The Family Circus in the Sunday Papers ... although I 'get it' and might smile sometimes, it's never made me laugh out loud like, say, Calvin and Hobbes, or The Far Side. I think that there is a strip over at Good Deal Games (Our Princess is in another Castle, I think?). I've read every one, and they aren't bad but I just don't laugh at them for some reason. I think your pixel art toons have made me LOL every time! I'd love to have a whole book of these some day.

Kinda OT but I've wanted to do my own strip too for some time. I've had a few ideas but never anything very good. maybe someday.

There's not any room in this one, but in general, you could have put that part in a thought bubble, and just had him ask to see the cart.

(PS - this is one of my fave strips so far)

Thanks for all your comments, Cafeman. If you decide to do your own strip I'd be happy to link to it from Game Chambers. I'd love to see some of the artistic people on this site create their own comic strips.

Thanks Russ. That would have been a great idea actually.

Thanks everyone for the additional comments. I really appreciate it.
