+Propane13
Hi everyone, Did anyone see this title at the CGExpo in the museum? I believe I took a picture of it. Is this a prototype that was never released? I only found one paragraph about it online: http://www.neoseeker.com/resourcelink.html?rlid=71835 "...SUPER PITFALL 2??? -Believe it or not, there were actually plans to release Super Pitfall 2 in the States. Sometime in October 2000 an eBay seller auctioned off his prototype cartridge of Super Pitfall 2, complete with screen shots (I have the .jpg of the title screen...email me if you want it). The game itself is actually a little known Famicom game called Atlantis No Nazo by Sunsoft (it is available online in ROM format...NO, I will not find it for you). According to the Super Pitfall 2 title screen, Sunsoft released the game in 1986 (in Japan) and sold the rights to Activision for a 1989 release in the States. Obviously the game was never released, which is just as well. It plays like a first generation NES game and if people thought Super Pitfall was a non-traditional Pitfall game, I'd hate to hear what they would have said about the sequel. Unfortunately, the guy who won the auction will probably keep the cart in his closet, never to be seen or played again " So, where did this come from? Is that an accurate description? -John
DreamTR
It's mine. I had it in the museum. I won it on eBay close to 7 years ago.

+Propane13
Did you keep it in your CLOSET where we will NEVER SEE IT AGAIN you horrible monster??? Anyway, here's a speedrun of the game 41th zone! And you gotta love that single congratulation. Not since "The Goonies" on Famicom did I see that and feel totally shortchanged. Just one? C'mon! -John

Have you ever considered posting some screen shots just to brag a bit? -John
Tempest
I actually *like* Atlantis No Nazo (it's one of the few Famicom carts I own). The game itself is VERY hard, but there's something quirky about it that keeps me coming back. I've gotten very close to beating it, but it's very hard without cheating. I love the Black Hole zone! I mean, WTF?!?! Tempest
DreamTR
Propane, there might be some shots of it on the web somewhere, maybe on "The Warp ZOne" or something. I've had it for 7 years already, nothing really to brag about. TRE: I actually turned into the butter monster and Gulab Jaman from Way of the Warrior and stored all EPROMS for 2K monies in my closet yesterday ! =D

Jess Ragan
Besides, we don't need a sequel to the game that nobody wanted in the first place. JR
Tempest
You have the famicom release. This is another one where there is really no point to dump. Are there any differences between the two (other than the title screen I assume)? Do you save the same guy at the end of the game? I'd be surprised as he was from some other Japanese only Famicom game IIRC. Tempest

This is just publicly hounding a guy to dump his proto at his expense with little tangible benefit to anyone but a title screen. Oh I agree 100%. I just hope that you have this backed up somewhere in case the proto decides to die on you in the future. Even if it's only the title screen, it's still a different version of the game. Tempest

Uzumaki
I also have Mystery of Atlantis famicom cart. I don't know what the programmers were thinking but both Super Pitfall a and SPF2 were both made by completely different companies and Activision bought the right to sell in USA.
