bretthorror
I tried, but the 5200 wouldn't work. I got the 7800 to work, but Donkey Kong comes off as a really big piece of shit. It's gotta be poor emulation because no game can be that bad...
NE146
I was going to say... I remember the 5200 emulation on the Dreamcast to be pretty damn good. And the last time I even bothered trying it was years and years ago! Even today with xbox emulation which is the king for most everything else, the 5200 emulation on that is really tricky. You HAVE to select "old pokey" (it's set on new by default) to get the sound right.. and the buttons are more suited for atari 400/800 games than for the 5200. I have a file somewhere that shows how to map the buttons so they do work for 5200 games that I got through pure stubborn sequential trial and error. So the bottom line even though I got it going good, the fact remains it's really hard to get it going right. If you got the 400/800 disk images though, it works almost right out the box (although I think you still have to set the Pokey right) The Dreamcast one was easier
bretthorror
I've tried 3 games on the 7800, Donkey Kong, Xevious and Asteroids. Of those, only Asteroids was worth playing. Is the 7800 just bad on the DC? Wish I could have got the 5200 going, I've never played Pengo.
