christianscott27
Like the topic says, I've moved onto a new cell phone but would still like to play games on my QD. Its a real pain in the neck swapping SIMs, is there a way to get around this? Without a SIM the QD wont even get to the menu screen.
Atari5200
get a dead sim, something, it doesn't have to be active. I use an old dead sim from one of my older phones, there has to be something there, it won't work without something.
Jess Ragan
I think mine came with a dummy SIM card. Dig around in the original packaging for it, if you've still got it lying around.
Trooper
Yeah the N-Gage won't boot up without a SIM card so like the others have said just get an old dead or unused SIM and it should work fine. /T
eric_ruck
Yeah the N-Gage won't boot up without a SIM card so like the others have said just get an old dead or unused SIM and it should work fine. /T So unlocking a T-Mobile QD won't fix it? I have the unlock code and the QD sitting around, haven't gotten around to trying it yet. Oddly my kids really liked the version of Sonic and Bomberman and have been asking to play them. christianscott27
could I get that unlock code? I'd give it a try, right now my n-gage is gathering dust but it would be nice to have a boredom killer in my backpack.
eric_ruck
That's not how the legal unlock codes work. After you fill your contract you have to give the phone's IME number to the operator, and they'll send you a unique unlock code generated for that phone. Or you can go to a one-off phone place to do a hack unlock. Or just buy an unlocked one off eBay relatively cheap.
joyrex
I unlocked my previous phone (the nokia 6600) quite easily using an on-line code generator; I even think it was this one. The N-Gage series seem to be unlockable too with generated codes, although the online tool I gave doesn't seem to support that model. Probably some googling will get you something simular. Just google on: "nokia code generator" (first hit is this one), maybe that works.
