Spector
I know the 2600 had problems with isometric perspectives a la Zaxxon, but was there ever a game done with this viewpoint? Surely there was one attempt, even if it failed?
StanJr
Q*Bert works on a diagonal.
Paul Slocum
Crystal Castles is pretty good considering the Atari's limitations. Makes me think Zaxxon could have been better. -Paul
davidbrit2
Q-Bert and Crystal Castles do an admirable job of presenting their playfields, but one must consider that they don't rely on a realtime perspective rendering. In other words, they present a static picture, and one which does not have to diminish in size with distance. Oh, and don't forget Congo Bongo. It takes the Q-Bert approach. Yarzz
I think a game like Desert Falcon might have that "moving isometric" perspective that is closest to Zaxxon. Even though that game kinda sucks, IMHO.
krisjohn
It's minimal in Sky Jinks but if you look at the towers and the way the shadows are done, it could be considered isometric.
