Paul Slocum
I got an Amiga 2000 today for $2.50 and I'd like to get it all set up and running. It boots up okay, but I don't have a keyboard or mouse. I tried my ST mouse and it didn't seem to work. Is there a simpler solution than finding an actual Amiga keyboard and mouse? Also, it has 6 BNC connectors on the back. 4 or them are labeled Video IN, one says Program OUT, and the other says Preview OUT. Is this part of a Video Toaster or something? -Paul
Paul Slocum
I confirmed that it is a Video Toaster! Good score for $2.50. -Paul
CaliColts
Yes that is a very nice score for an A2000 with Video Toaster. That is still to today a great video editing system. You will need an A2000 keyboard (they are specific only to the 2000), and as far as I know you will need just a general 2 button amiga mouse. The mouse plugs into the 9 pin plug on the front where the joysticks plug in. The keyboards are usually $30-40 on ebay but if you watch out you may find one for 20 or so. If you decide to keep and use it, I have alot of sealed games available for trade or sale. Enjoy your Amiga!!!
sonnenhexer
Great score, 2,50. The 2000 is great, you can extend it to an XT/AT with cards. Which Kick-Roms does the 2000 have? Michael
Paul Slocum
Thanks for the info. I'll probably just wait and see if I can find a keyboard and mouse at Thrift stores. I have seen them before. I'm not sure which ROMs it has. I did more poking around and it also has a SCSI card, hard drive, processor accellerator/RAM expansion, and VGA card. -Paul
sonnenhexer
Switching the Amiga on, a Hand appears holding a diskette. Beside there is a number, the Amiga 500 has 1.2 or 1.3 normally, some have newer versions of Kickstart. Just intersting which Kick the 2000 has. Bez
Pretty sure all 2000´s had 1.3 Kickstart.
Paul Slocum
It appears to be 1.3. -Paul
