Pengwin
After my rant a little while ago (What did Tynesoft have against Atari gamers), it is fantastic to see this game get the xxl treatment. We now have two absolute classics from the Spectrum ported, hell even improved, over here on the A8. Well done

simonl
Excellent stuff! It's a lot easier to see whether objects are collectible or fatal now which was my only complaint with the previous version.
emkay
Remembering, to have something impossible, again The summary of many moving software objects, full playing soundtrack and a good playability. Very good!
Kaz atarionline.pl
Is there any person who is going to complete this game and/or prepare a map of Jet Set Willy rooms? Kaz atarionline.pl
map is here :-) You are wrong That's the Spectrum version. Atari version has diffrent colours, no attributes, all collectible items are visible...

Heaven/TQA
I personally run into this (Jason knows why... ): so...actually if we port the Filmation engine we would have access to some more classics... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmation_engine http://retrospec.sgn.net/users/nwalker/filmation/ http://www.icemark.com/dataformats/index.html Edited December 6, 2007 by Heaven/TQA

I asked XXL about doing this next too. I voted for at least maybe Alien8 to be done. The games with this engine are the best on the Spectrum and all the Ultimate titles in particular are just great. We do have Head over heals on the A8 using this already too EDIT>> Here's the post i did in the g'n'g thread http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=0#entry1392284 Edited December 6, 2007 by Tezz
Kaz atarionline.pl
http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/5138/je...illy2007ln1.png I compared this map with Spectrum version and found one mistake on it. There is no screen on the top (don't remember room name).

Wrathchild
http://www.icemark.com/dataformats/index.html A site I've known for a while as I got a little way into porting the C64 version of Lords of Midnight to the Atari (code can assemble and I've engineered a involved display list to model the C64 display model). I need to run through the code and comment out the Commodore specific register pokes as they are getting in the way of any drawing on the screen being done yet, but I'll have a little time over the hols to take a look at progressing it... but my vote for the next Speccy convert is still: Ant Attack Regards, Mark
Kaz atarionline.pl
Just to check... i'm assuming that JSW 2007 has the attic bug fixed, yeah? As far as I know xxl's program was based on the Spectrum SNA file with a few patches. Attic bug was one of fixed problems. Krzysztof, could you confirm that? However, there are other bugs xxl decided to left. You can meet around 3 places in the game with highlighted fields but no objects inside. You can't see an object to collect, but you can collect it anyway. According to xxl's explanation, that is a problem with level design in Spectrum version. An attribute for an object is set, but there is no graphics. Thus, Atari version is better - you don't need to spend ours to find all these places out. Second Spectrum bug left in our version: you can pick up the invisible object just coming in and out of the room Next bug in Atari version is not related to Spectrum bugs: you don't see water in swimming pool, but it is exist. This bug was too complicated to fix - fixed gfx affected game, for example: the moving rope could grab Willy from every place in the room. Magic... Tezz
Hi all The Jet Set Willy conversion is great. I'm really happy to see it done, I've been playing xxl's brilliant conversion on my PSP whilst out and about I was looking at the title screen for Jet Set Willy 2007 and was wondering why the Spectrum title screen was not recreated completely with the inclusion of the software projects triangle behind. The Spectrum uses only hi res mode of course but the angle that the software projects logo is drawn makes it actually a 2:1 pixel ratio graphic meaning that it can be recreated exactly pixel for pixel in Antic 4 (Graphics 12). The original title screen also only uses 5 colors (including the black background) so no dli's or pm overlays or anything else is required just bog standard Antic 4 characters. I took it into g2f and worked out the title graphics and with it's repeating patterns making it up it only uses just 18 characters to make up the logo. I think it'd be great if this could be included in the Atari title to make it even more like the original. The "Jet Set Willy" wording just simply cycles between red and magenta on the Spectrum original. Here's an xex and screenshot attached.
