Clint Thompson
Just curious if anyone here has this program running on their 800XL? I remember not being able to get it to work on my XL when I had it in the late 90's. Does it require a translator disk? IF it does work on the XL (which I'm hoping) would someone be kind enough to make me a copy permitting I sent a blank disk and SASE?
Mathy
Hello Clint I can't help you with Software Automated Mouth, but if you are interested in that kind of software, you might also be interested in ReadIt! by Tom Hunt. It reads textfiles out loud. I'm not sure, but I might only run with SpartaDOS. Either because of ReadIt! itself or because of the software Tom uses to pack his stuff (IIRC it was called Armorizer). mimo
It's not an easy pro gramme to run. http://retrobits.net/atari/sam.shtml instructions
gauntman
I know that S.A.M. worked on the Atari 800 and the 130XE. I wrote a program ages ago for entering long ML programs that would echo back the number you typed in using the keypad, and I am sure I used it on both machines. Warriorisabouttodie
I used S.A.M. with my 400 and 130xe back in the day. It didn't require the translator disk.

It definitely works on a stock 130XE with no translator disk. Stephen Anderson

Hornpipe2
Sorry to dredge this up, but: Does S.A.M. work on any emulators? Atari800Win 4.0 and 4.1 are both crashing when I try to boot the disk image.

Hornpipe2
Never mind, I got it working. Must have gotten a corrupt ZIP the first time around or something.
