SRGilbert
Ok, here's the story. I've thought about getting a Lynx for a while, just waiting for the right price I guess. When I saw a posting in the Marketplace for a Lynx II with 18 games, a powersupply and a case for $60 I jumped on it! I love it, end of story. But it's not the WHOLE story........ While waiting for delivery, I poured over the Lynx threads to learn what I could about my new-to-me system and made an interesting discovery. It turns out that I'm the third AA member to own this unit, and at least the fourth owner over it's life! I can't say what happened to it before BigO found it in a pawn shop in Pheonix, but I'd say he got a great deal for $30.... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=114478 For whatever reason, BigO decided he's rather have a Vectrex (also good) so off the Lynx goes to Alaska in a trade with theking21083.... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=116530 He also did a nice write up on it here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=116846 He seemed to really enjoy the Lynx, and I don't know the circumstances of why he decided to sell it, but I think $70 shipped was a fair price for both of us, so here it is now in Lansing, MI. Perhaps it's not right to say it was unloved. Obviously, all who had it took very good care of it. After all this, everything is in amazing shape (aside from a little dust under the screen which should be easy to get out) and I'm happy to add it to my collection! Don't worry little(!) Lynx, you are home now.......
BigO
If by "unloved" you mean that it wasn't enjoyable to the owner to play, then that's a fair statement. It was in nice condition and I thought I'd like having the portable unit. It just didn't click with me. Good to hear that it's being appreciated. Yeah, I just thought it was interesting, it's not often you can trace the ownership history of a system! Besides, if everyone held on to everything, I wouldn't have had a chance to own it! iwan-iwanowitsch-goratschin
It appears that this unit was only made for AA members......
SRGilbert
It appears that this unit was only made for AA members...... Perhaps.... Now I'm wondering if I should sell it, maybe it's like a chain letter and I'll have bad luck if I don't!
