Awol
Is there any way to switch an Atari 1040 STE with a German keyboard layout (QWERTZ) to US or UK style? Edited February 18, 2008 by Grey_and_Purple
Sub(Function(:))
AFAIK You need a set of UK TOS Roms. When the computer boots up are the GEM menus also in German? I brought a MEGA STe from some one in Switzerland, this was also a German machine, I got a new keyboard from best electronics and a set of TOS ROM chips from Ebay. With the 1040ste you would need the UK ROMS and a STe keyboard. (Roms only needed if the OS is GERMAN). You will have to take the case off to fit both these items.... Another solution: This guy sells stickers for many languages Transparent and opaque. (cheaper than a new keyboard) http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Best-Stickers...sQ3amesstQQtZkm Hope this helps
