Joe Siegler
I recently inheritied my boss' old Atari collection. It had quite a lot of 2600 stuff, but when we were packing it up, I said "Hey, you have a 7800" - to which he asked me if I wanted that too - so I said yeah. Problem is that it doesn't have any controllers. I think it has a power supply, but I'd need to check the hardware pile to be sure. Anyway, does anyone know where I can obtain 7800 controllers? I tried Ebay, but no luck there. For the record, here's the list of games he gave me to go with my 7800. All are sealed unless otherwise noted. Asteroids Ballblazer * Centipede Choplifter * Dark Chambers Dig Dug Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Galaga Joust Karateka * Meltdown Midnight Mutants Ms. Pac-Man Ninja Golf One-on-One Basketball Pole Position II Robotron: 2084 Scrapyard Dog Super Huey UH-IX Tower Toppler Winter Games Xevious * - Just a cartridge, nothing else. ** - Not Sealed

bcprs1
That is one hell of a nice load of games you got for free. For most of the games, you can just use the 2600 controllers. 7800 are pretty easy to come by on ebay. Also, you can buy converted Nintendo/playstation/genesis controllers from Junies Creations http://juniescreations.netfirms.com/cgi-bi...id=3069510.7250

Joe Siegler
Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot with the 2600 controller, and see how I make out. If I run into something that doesn't work, I'll probably have to pick up the 7800 controller.
+Mitch
I have a list here on my website that lists which games can function with the 2600 controllers. Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org
Brian R.
Many of the 7800 games only require one fire button. For those a 2600 controller will do just fine. Another option, besides the 7800 sticks that were sold here in the US - which I find painful to use - is the 7800 joypads that were sold in Europe. Yes, I said PADS. They are very similar to the Nintendo NES pads, but much cooler, of course. They are black with two red fire buttons and a gray directional pad. The neat part about the pad is there's a little thumb stick you can screw into the center of the D-pad. I found a pair on eBay myself and like them. Many of the better games for the system (that are not oldie ports like Centipede or Joust) use 2 buttons. If you want to save your hands from a lot of pain buy the pads. You can get a pair brand new for $20-25 on ebay. Worth every penny. John
