vespertillio
Hey all, I was playing a little Yars revenge a while ago with the kids and the youngest decided to change carts. Not knowing what it was he took out the SD card, as I told him "no, not that" he tried to put it back in...well long story short he pushed a little too hard and now the card slot has ummm become de-soldered. I emailed Mr. Schell but understandably he has been too busy to answer. My task and question to folks here; is there someone who can repair this beast for me? I'm not bad with a soldering iron and tried it once but no go. I have all the parts and can send them out to who may have the mad skills to help out. Can anyone help me? Your assistance is greatly appreciated with this problem. V

shadow460
Is it surface mounted or PCB mount? In other words, does the card slot have leads going through the board or just on top of it. If you can scan it, that would help. I can repair some surface mount stuff, but I really have to see the damage before knowing whether or not I can fix it. It does sound pretty straightforward. I've soldered in surface mount SRAM IC's by hand before with great success.
+remowilliams
Ouch!! That's why I use RS-MMC cards in the CC2. Is it surface mounted or PCB mount? In other words, does the card slot have leads going through the board or just on top of it. The cart slot (and nearly everything else on the PCB) is an SMT device. Almost Rice
Sound's like you're covered. Except for the RS-MMC card. I would get one before this happens again.
