Gemini
The headphones jack on my Game Gear, which I've had almost since its launch, has always only generated sound in one ear. (I forget which at the moment.) But it's recently come to my attention that some Game Gear games actually support stereo sound! Is it possible my Game Gear headphones jack is defective or is that a common problem with certain Game Gear models? Also, the speaker barely works anymore. At full volume it is practically impossible to hear. Is it possible to fix/replace it? What parts/tools do I need should it require replacing? ApolloBoy
Sounds like you have bad capacitors on your GG's sound board, which happens to be a really common problem on the GG. shadow460
Yep, bad caps and possibly a bad jack. The page you will see tells how to replace both caps, and that's what you need to do. Please be careful in there--some parts of the mainboard pack an electric punch.
Gemini
Ack. That sounds like more effort than I thought it might be... There's a repair shop in my city that handles video game equipment, even stuff as old as the NES... wonder if they can handle it?
