Power supply connectors for dummies?

So, on a whim I decied to stop by what is left of a Radio Shack nowadays, and bought a few power supply connectors. These look perfect for my universal p/s as soon as I can find the right connector.

I intend to put a p/s connector port on my "Tv games" Famiclone so it doesn't use batteries anymore. Already I took off the cover to hunt for a spot I can drill in to add the connector. Looks like I have to put it on the side, as the hinge assembly, etc doesn't allow room for another port.

Okay, simple enough, right? After numerous google searches to simply add a p/s port, there seems to be no information on the basic level. Any photos I've seen referencing the radio shack part number seem to always have too small picture.

Dumb question: There's three leads on this connector, but the packaging was slightly ripped so I can't read the pinout. Looks like 2 of the leads are connected.

On the console side, there's a 2 prong connector that goes to the batteries. If I can find another connector, looks like I can just reconnect it to the console, use the mounting screws on the connector, and call it a day.

Hmmm... Now how do I double-check to see if I have the polarity right?
