Rumor: Lite-On Developing Blu-ray Drive for Xbox 360

it would not make sense to do that. It just wouldn't, they've sold how many consoles now? It's over 10 million right? how many of those 10 million people are going to buy a new console so the games can be put on Blu-ray disc, I know I wouldn't, the consoles sales now are going to slow down. They would have to make 2 versions of the games, or just not use blu ray disc for the games, and then it seems like a waste because it would have been cheaper to do an add on.

As an add-on thought, yeah, i'd probably buy one.

This couldn't be the same Microsoft Corp. that denied the the existence of the Elite up to its release day, could it? :ponder:

You mean they are gonna deny BluRay's existence? :?

No...LOL.

It's just you can't trust MS (or a lot of corporations) to honestly verify or deny rumors about forthcoming products. MS constantly denied the existence of the Elite right up to its release.

I still hold to the theory that Sony won't allow for a 360 BR drive due to the fact that there's twice as many X-boxes as PS3's already, and what few sales they got are more for the Blue Ray drive than for the PS3 system.

I guarantee, if BR comes out on the 360, especially at the same $180 price point of the HDDVD drive, I'd likely bite (if I found anything in HD I absolutely had to have...taht is), and at that point, so much for me ever being interested in the PS3, as it's just an overly expensive console at that point.
