Atariage 2600 Rarity database...

I made one with pretty pictures a while back.

It's my bible.

It also counts totals for you if you put an 'X' in the owned column.

It also links to AtariAge for the game and the cart. type.

2600_for_everyone.zip

Is this STRICTLY based off of Atariage's list?

Yes.

It is NTSC, US Releases only.

And it is only the games and label variations that are listed on AtariAge's list of games.

My original ultimate goal was to collect all the games on that list.

Since I started seriously collecting, I realized two things.

1. I may never get all the games on that list.

2. There are a lot of other games that are not on the list that I do want and in some cases, already have.

But it's still a good starting point.

Sounds great. I think you and I have pretty much the same goals.

I wanted to collect mainly Rarity 1-4. From Atariage's list.

Then move forward with others. That's not saying I don't already have over half of the 5s as well. I pick them up when I can and when I find them for a bargain.

Some of the Rarity 1-4s are proving to be a tougher find than I expected. (Glacier Patrol, Asteroids Sears Picture, some of the Sears Text games, a few silver telegames, etc). I've got less than 100 to go now. :)

I hit the wall at 500 carts.

Everything I have left to get is either too expensive, or I am too lazy to look through all the auctions for a particular elusive label variation.

So I started collecting some PAL and Brazilian stuff, which is very fun.

Then, I only collected lose. Starting to collect boxes was cheap and easy (so far...) so I started doing that.

Of course that will get difficult and expensive soon I imagine...

When I only had 30 or so games many many years ago, collecting was non-stop fun.

Tag Sales always had games I didn't have, so did Flea Markets and Thrifts.

Ebay was full of stuff I needed.

Now, finding a cart a month is exciting if I'm lucky enough to find one.

But tag sale season starts soon and there is always hope every Saturday morning of finding a boxed Quadrun in someone's junk pile.

(Hey, I still play Powerball even though I know the odds, right?)

As for some of those 1-4 rarities, some are WAAAY off. If you find a Glacier Patrol you are lucky. And good luck with a silver Asteroids.

I think we talked about this before, but there are some huge misses in the rarity guide. I've looked for a Universal Chaos for years too.

Yep... some are way off.

Don't forget the Asteroids Sears Pic... that's a tough one as well. Not AS tough... but still fairly hard.
