Which Atari models will run Cubase 3.1?

Recommended Posts

I have a 1040 STf. It just crapped out on me. Got bombs on the screen. Opened it up reseated everything and made sure all connections were secure. No luck. So I think I'm going to try to find another model. Preferably one that is more reliable, that will run Cubase 3.1, and have the ability to use my Megafile 60 with it.

Any suggestions?

Since you have the Megafile 60, the Atari 1040STe or Mega 4 ST would probably be your best choices. The 1040STe is very easy to expand to 4 megs while the Mega 4 has the 4 megs already plus is probably the most compatible with almost the entire library of ST software.

For faster work a Mega/STe might be suitable as well.

Another advantage would be the fact you could use the Megafile to backup your works as the Mega/STe systems usually have a built-in hard drive.
