If it's the original battery I'd think there's a good chance the cart wouldn't work, but then I haven't played any of my genesis games that had batteries in them for a long time either to see if they still work. The BIN is the same as the one that Curt used in his repros. The former Atari engineer that I got it from said he was working on it during the Tramiel takeover.
