Since 2005, No Sides Records CEO and ex-Skin Graft staffer Billy Sides has risen to prominence in the burgeoning video game music, or “chiptune," scene with his enthralling, genre-transcending bursts of sonic nostalgia under the moniker WILLIAM SIDES ATARI PARTY. As a one-man-band utilizing the Atari Synthcart program and an array of modified synthesizers and electronic gadgets, Sides brings a low-tech approach to his top-of-the-minute techno/breakcore/electrocrash jams.

THE MACHINIST

 

 

As "THE MACHINIST," Brian Klein creates and performs various types of electronic music, including noise, breakcore, idm, acid, electro, gabber, ambient music, and soundtracks for performance art pieces. His sounds can be found on releases and remixes on the Terry Plumming (http://www.diabolical.org), Retinascan (http://www.retinascan.de), Godxiliary, and Hair Club Tapes record labels. Brian has performed live music, dj'd and vj'd at many venues around the Chicago area and Midwest US, San Francisco, Oakland, New York, and Europe.

Born and raised in the heart of the midwest, Ian Henningsen found himself drawn to a world of pixels and bits early in life. As he grew older he became increasingly in love video games, reaching a level of obsession that most people would consider unhealthy. But amidst the high-tech splendor he was immersed in he found himself longing for the familiar 8-bit sound waves that he had been raised on, and giveupnewyork was born. Composing music entirely on the Nintendo Gameboy, giveupnewyork pieces together upbeat dance music using square waves and white noise.
