JagChris
JagChris, i agree with you. It looks like an enhanced port from a version made for a much weaker console than the Jag. Smaller spirtes, less animation and colors than the other versions for the 32 bit systems. For some reason, many Jaguar fans dont agree, but i have put the Jag version side by side with the Saturn, PS1 and 3DO versions, and it certanly is the weaker port . I remember reading back in the day that the Jaguar's limited RAM caused the characters to be smaller than on the Saturn and PS1. Have never seen the 3DO version. Actually come to think about it, that doesn't make sense. I think they just have to scale them in and out to make them bigger or smaller etc. Dont think that costs much memory if any. There is now a Jag version of NBA Jam up on Youtube thanks to viMaster. I've been doing some comparing. The Jag NBA Jam is damn near dead on to the arcade version. Obviously there is more animation in the arcade and more voices due to unlimited memory. One odd difference is when one team goes to throw in the ball, on the Jag version the two of the other players stand at the two corner points of the free throw line. in the arcade they stand back and out a little farther.
