AJ_Maine_Man
Theme's sound very cool, I would like a theme one with the coleco box art on the out side of the case,,,,so i wouldnt have to hunt for a boxed coleco anymore
doubledown
I think the "theme" idea is pretty cool, and could make each console unique besides just the serial number difference. What do you consider to be the big ColecoVision games to use as themes? Off the bat I think of: Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Junior Frogger Galaxian Q*bert! Turbo Zaxxon
AJ_Maine_Man
Miner 2049er Spy Hunter Rocky Super Action boxing Montezuma's revenge (best translation of the game for any system) War games Gateway To Asphia would make nice themes
doubledown
I think Donkey Kong should be the first one as it was the pack-in game with the ColecoVision and one of the greatest arcade games of all time!
misspent_youth
I think Donkey Kong should be the first one as it was the pack-in game with the ColecoVision and one of the greatest arcade games of all time! Seconded. For most classic gamers who weren't fans or had much experience with CV, the first game they think of when you mention the ColecoVision is Donkey Kong. AJ_Maine_Man
Doubledown, How's this for a idea make a mini coleco-atari console. He's my idea strip out the atari expansion module (that seems pretty small to start) and connect them together inside the console so all people would see on the outside is 2 cartridge slots 1 for coleco and 1 for atari. Granted it wouldn't be as mini as your fine creation but for a combo system it would be pretty small.
doubledown
Yeah, it would probably be possible, but I'd need to start with a bigger case. To save the most space, you'd probably want to stack the Atari Expansion Board on top of the rear half of the ColecoViison board, which means the case would need to be taller. I'd also need to figure out how to install a switch so that the ColecoVision thinks that the Atari Module isn't attached and would allow loading from the ColecoVision cartridge slot. doubledown
Well the Mini ColecoVision is up on Ebay. Someone had better buy this so that I can get enough money to build my next masterpiece! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=
Rik
Wow ,I read the mod descriptions on ebay, you really improved on the thing. My doubts about using the original motherboard have been greatly relieved!

HARMIK
On ebay you said you replaced the VDP what did you replace it with, was it the same chip but new or a compatible new chip.

Prodos8
Eegh...good effort, but I still prefer the original CV's style over yours. I've a soft spot for systems that incorporated controller storage in their design, like the Inty(especially the Sears version), Atari 5200 and (of course) the CV. AJ_Maine_Man
$205 dollars and going this should be interesting I say it ends at about 300-350 bucks anyone care to take a guess???
doubledown
I'm not quite sure what its going to sell for (kind of surprised to see it this high already), but I could venture a guess as to what its not going to sell for less than. Jess Ragan
Whoa, that's harsh. I'd think about one of these if I had a lot of money to burn and no electronics experience, but since I know how to handle a soldering iron, I'd rather do the job myself. It's a shame that the ColecoVision motherboard is just a little too large to fit into the Wii case, because that's where I'd put it if that option was available to me. classics
A dirty ColecoVision with a couple games usually goes for $50 or more. Maybe I am a sucker, but the attention to detail on doubledown's work makes it worth every penny to me. Steve
