Jboypacman's Blog - A Second Look.........Pac-Man for the Atari 2600

Ok for a long while now i have just blasted the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man as just being a horrible port of the arcade classic.

 

So last night i went and pop in one of my two copies of the game i own into my 2600 and gave it another whirl and decided to keep a open mind about the game.

 

Guess what? after playing it for a short time i came to realize that it really is not such bad game(still not a great game)but not bad.

 

Granted sounds and graphics could of been much more(look at Ms.Pac-Man for the 2600)but considering the amount of time given to make this game(my understanding it was some what of a rush job by Atari)i guess it is not as bad as i once thought.

 

The beauty of playing old games over again after a period of time is that your tastes tend to change which is good so maybe someday E.T. or the SwordQuest games for the Atari 2600 might just become fun for me to play.
