+cvga
Here's what I learned about last week... - We played about 100 different games - HSC skews the results as well as a marathon session of Donkey Kong - Homebrews certainly received their fair share of playing time - Atari still pulls families together based on how many of us played with our children - Some games were deemed not so good (Challenge of Nexar) - Others were super (Super Breakout, Super Ferrari, Super Super Football) although no one played Superman - Shadow must have had to play Street Racer for 30 minutes as some sort of punishment I've decided to limit this Top Ten to Classic Systems (say Atari 7800 or earlier) and it's fine to play on an emulator. Also, if it doesn't kill the mood, try to estimate your time. Here are the results... 1. Donkey Kong (730 minutes) 2. Pitfall (370) 3. Frostbite (180) 3. Gyruss (180) 5. Snoopy and the Red Baron (150) 6. Adventure (135) 7. Haunted House (120) 7. Pressure Cooker (120) 7. Riddle of the Sphinx (120) 7. Cabbage Patch Kids repro (120) 7. Blackjack (120) 7. Space Jockey (120) 7. Super Breakout 120 Keep posting and I'll update Week 2 late next Sunday.

Fall Down: 20 min - fun, but need to try it 2 player soon Sync: 30 min - only second time I've ever played this... not sure how I feel about it yet, but it's nicely done either way LadyBug - 1 hour - one of my all-time favorites Turmoil - 30 min - another fave Tax Avoiders - 2 min - WTF is this junk... seriously? AtariLeaf
Got a Telegames bump and jump via ebay and have been playing the heck outta that. Thank goodness for the telegames versions. I can't stand those funky M-Network carts. Also been playing a lot of ladybug. Thats an excellent, excellent homebrew. I hope Champ Games keeps 'em coming. famicommander
My 2600 crapped out on me, so I've been using the browser-based version of jstella. I put in some time (probably about 20 minutes) on Adventure before my uncle stole the computer from me. He says I don't know a damn thing about "vidja games" (he's 40 and I'm 18). But tonight I'm getting a 7800, so I foresee good times all around. Edited October 27, 2008 by famicommander
midnight magicman
Hmmm, Finished my harvesting for the year last week, so I've been hitting the 7800 pretty hard. Pitfall - 3 hrs Mountain King - 1 hr Crazy Climber - 4 hrs Solar Fox - 30 mins Mario Bros - 30 mins Frogs & Flies - 1 hr I'm assuming we're only talking 2600 games. I also played some 7800 Asteroids Deluxe - 1 hr Space Duel - 30 mins & a ton of genesis as well. Peace Edited October 27, 2008 by midnight magicman
DarthCalvin
In the last 7 days, Pitfall 10 hours (not the same 10 from other week) Othello 4 hours Donkey Kong arcade (bonus game on DK64) 30 mins I know the last one is on the N64 but it seems to me to be identical to the arcade so I consider it an emulator. +cvga
Even with a couple of marathon Pitfall sessions, overall playing time is down in Week 2. Twenty new games were played this week (that weren't played last week) HSC really distorts the results Homebrews continue to hold their own overall although Ladybug is the only one in the Top 10. Here are the results... This Week Title (Minutes) 1 Pitfall (1380) 2 Othello (690) 3 Crazy Climber (240) 4 Ladybug (90) 5 Mountain King (60) 5 Frogs & Flies (60) 5 7800 Asteroids Deluxe (60) 8 Bump N Jump (45) 9 Solar Fox (40) 10 Beamrider (35) Post what you're playing (with an estimate of how much time) and I'll tally results again next week for Week 3.
