hi im new here, ive had a pair of lynx II's since i was a kid. and decided to pull them out and give them a spin,to my dismay neither of them seem to want to work.Im fairly good with electronics and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what the problem could be, ive read a few threads about blown mosfets and caps, but that doesnt seem to make sense since the worked when i put them away(albeit a few years age).i was thinking more likley that some of the caps have dried out but wouldnt know where to start looking or if i should even bother with them and buy another.

First a check list.

A) Are you testing the systems with a game inserted?

B) Trying batteries or a a/c adapter?

C) are the contacts on the games clean.

A lynx will not work unless a game is inserted. If you are using rechargable batteries, used batteries, or a power supply it could be your batteries or the power supply. If the games contacts or systems contacts are dirty and you are not getting a connection with the system, it will assume there is no game inserted and not power on. Lets rule this all out first.

Do you see any corrosion around the battery compartment?

here's a simple one people miss all the time!

Check the Backlight. Make sure its on and make sure you adjust the brightness wheel or you could have a black screen in eitehr instance fooling you that something is wrong when nothing is.

Actually, hopefully that is all it is since you havent picked one up in years right?

Goodluck with em ;)
