uldhatten
I just bought a US 7800 from EBAY. I have fine picture, but no sound. I thought it might have been the RF cable, so I tested it on my US NES, which was working fine with sound and all. The seller tells me that everything was working when he sent it....so I will have to trust that. I have been fine tuning the TV for hours, but still no sound. I have absolutely no clue about what is inside a 7800 - would there be a delicate sound chip that could be destroyed during transit, or could it be something else?. I am using the console on my danish PAL TV fully capable of broadcasting NTSC signal. There is absolutely no problems with all my US Nintendos. Hope somebody can help me....my fingers are itching to grab the brandnew competition pro, and play....with sound :-)
ApolloBoy
What type of RF cable are you using? If you're using an NES switchbox it won't work with the 7800.

uldhatten
What type of RF cable are you using? If you're using an NES switchbox it won't work with the 7800. I am using original Atari RF lead, but have also tried using NES swithchbox, which is not working well. Mitch has showed me the problem in the link below. Thanks for your help. fiddlepaddle
I have a couple of 7800s (out of 5, I think) that have no sound. Never tried to fix them, but I believe it must be some common problem, since it happened to two of them. Otherwise, they both work fine.
