strange colecovision/time pilot problem

Recommended Posts

I have a CV and a bunch of games which I purchased recently. The problem is with time pilot specifically. Of the couple dozen games I have, this is the only one where, when I press the 1 or 2 or 3, etc on the number pad, nothing happens. I cleaned the cart, it turns on fine but after the blue screen that allows you select your skill level, nothing happens. All other games work fine when pressing the keypad numbers, just with time pilot.

Any suggestions/theorys?

Hi...

First of all, have you tried to change the ColecoVision Controller from player 2 to player 1 ?.

Maybe it could be the Controller in player 1 there have a defect. :)

But as you said, "it works with all your other games you have"

Theroy: It's proberly your Time-Pilot cart.

I had in my ColecoVision number 2 and 3 the problem that it not could get a brand new Choplifter to work,

there were all sorts of strange characters.

So I bought a new Choplifter which worked fine in my ColecoVision number 3.

The newest ColecoVision 4 i have, do not have any problem with the first Choplifter game.

Mysterious, -which has always worked fine from the factory.

So now i have two Choplifters, and one can always be used as a reserve. :ponder:

You could also check the cartridge port, -the pins in your ColecoVision.

Confused, me too...

Still nothing, I guess the time pilot is dead. Its just strange that it gets to the skill choosing screen and thats it. Tried it on two CV's with the same problem.

Another cart, a Space Fury, will turn on and get to the skill choosing screen but the difference with this one, when you press a button the keypad, the game resets to the title screen. Again, on both CV's. Whats up with that?

Most of the games seem to work fine though.
