jlnsctt
Im thinking the Wico Command series. What do you guys think?
Marc Oberhäuser
Agreed if you have large hands. I have small hands so I go for the Competition Pro (the one without micro switches). Marc

Thomas Jentzsch
Agreed if you have large hands. I have small hands so I go for the Competition Pro (the one without micro switches). And I prefer the Competition Pro too, but the larger, clicking version (with micro switches).

Ranthulfr
I am pretty happy with my Wico Command Control joystick. Has anyone ever used the stick that has no base (you tilt it)? I think it was called "Le Stick". That always looked interesting.
Nostalgic
I have two TAC-2 joysticks by Suncom. They're very comfortable, have a short throw (the distance it takes to cause a movement) but not too short, and good trigger response. There's also two buttons so you can play left-handed or right-handed. I think I've had them for at least ten years, if not longer, and they survived both 2600 and 130XE gaming. davidbrit2
I have frighteningly small hands, so I'm kind of partial to the stock NES pads. Of course, you have to rewire them a little...
CrazyImpmon
Sega Master System controller pad is almost exactly rhe same size and style as the NES pad plus SMS pad can be used on just about any systems that can use Atari controller. Of course if you meant the NES dogbone shaped controller...
davidbrit2
Oh, heavens no, not the redesigned NES pad. The placement of the A and B buttons is horrible. And I never could really get used to the Sega Master System pads. Something about that square directional pad just didn't quite agree with my thumb. Maybe I just got crappy pads. RangerG
The Epyx 500XJ is a great stick, but the clicking could drive you insane. The TAC 2 and Slik Stik are my other two favorites. I always need to have the original Atari stick hooked up to at least one side of the 2600 though because anyone that sees my Atari loves to look at and remember the original. El Destructo
Am I the only one who likes Atari's own joysticks the best? I've tried many aftermarket controllers, but I always get the best control and highest scores from the originals.
jlnsctt
I like them to, but they aren't the best quality..I was more aiming at construction quality in this thread! I'm scared to use my original controllers due to the workmanship!!!!
Rob Mitchell
Starplex 5 button "asteroids" style controller .. The best! Works with all the death from above games too! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
Cap5750
Epyx 500XJ. And I didn't mind the clicking! Especially good for the "games" (Summer, Winter, etc) games. I have one each of the Epyx 500XJ and then the Konami version which contains and autofire on it. Cap
The Night Phantom
Has anyone ever used the stick that has no base (you tilt it)? I think it was called "Le Stick". That always looked interesting. I have a Le Stick. My impression is that the lack of resistance makes it hard to use, since it’s harder to realize that you are leaning the stick in some direction or other, and it’s rather responsive. It could be just a matter of taking the time to train oneself, which I have not done.
DuckandCover
The virtually indestructable Suncom Slik-Stik. My favorite as well.
Brian R.
I like the original, authentic Atari 2600 controllers. I've never had a problem with them. Never had one break on me.

christianscott
the euro issue 7800 control pad is the best for those who prefer a NES style controller. a wico ball stick is pretty nice, for out and out coolness though i gotta go with the tron joystick! oh and the worst i've ever played with is that damn fasterblaster button pad.
