gorf68
Hello, I've just started to bung out a quick bat and ball routean on the Vectrex and was looking for a vectrex programming discusion forum to ask some questions on. Can anybody point me in the direction of any such forum, do they exist? I've got my ball bouncing around the screen, I can move my bat back and forth and I can bounce my ball off of my bat I can print statick strings of characters, but I can't work out how to show a score etc as text. It may be my emulator, but it all seems to be going rather slow as well... I'm looking for answers to this and some other basic question on Vectrex Assembly programming. Any help is welcome. Although i'm not competent enough to mess around with programming, there actually are not any forums for vectrex. Your best chance is the vectrex usenet group... http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.vectrex/topics?lnk
VectrexMad!
Hi gorf68, There used to be a forum specifically for Vectrex programming, software and hardware . It can still be found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vectrex_dev/messages. However, there weren't that many posts and there haven't been any new posts there for some years now. Many homebrewers also used to talk code on http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.v...ex/topics?hl=en around 1999-2006 I found that many questions can be answered by going to the above forums and searching on key words to find old posts. If you have new questions why not post them to rec.games.vectrex group - I know someone recently did just that, as one of the posts contained a snippet of assembler code. I'm not sure if he got any answers though... Another way to go is to look at other programmers code - one website that comes particularly to mind is Manu's. His website contains several examples of his coding, with some including comments:- http://www.pelikonepeijoonit.net/vec/coders.html hope this helps... regards VectrexMad! http://www.vectrex.co.uk Edited February 3, 2009 by VectrexMad!
