Tickled_Pink
It's been a while but I'm trying to remember the ATARI BASIC POKE commands for changing the number of maximum open IOCB channels that DOS 2.5 can handle ... and then save the modified DOS back to disk again. Rybags
Didn't DOS 2.5 come with a CONFIG utility? Or maybe I'm thinking about the "forgettable" DOS 3.0. I think the locations in question should be the same as for DOS 2.0 (number of active drives, Open files etc).
Rybags
Looks the same as DOS 2.0, just tried it in the emu and seems to work. $709 (1801) defines maximum number of Open files. $70A (1802) holds the bitmap of allowable drives. bit 0 for drive 1, bit 1 for drive 2 etc.
Tickled_Pink
I worked it out after posting. Yeah, it is location 1801. Then you have to go into the DOS menu and write out the new files with H.
