My ideal Lynx

I think the Lynx was an awesome 16 bit game system. Probably it and the 7800 were the best that Atari had to offer. And for some reason, the Lynx just has oodles of games.

I would love to take a Lynx and make it into a game system like it is more typically known. Have a Lynx, give it A/V out, make it where you can hack a controller port, and then give it a way to load multiple images (much like the Cuttle Cart for the 7800).

Even without the image loader, I think the A/V out and controller port would be great for those of us NOT on the go.

Yeah, I agree. Even if someone made a repro with a modern LCD screen like on the GBA or Neo Geo Pocket would be a great.

Battery life and a fuzzy screen are my main gripes. The games are outstanding. It's probably my favorite portable, followed (maybe equalled) by the Neo geo Pocket.

Battery life has been solved. 2500 mAh or higher NiMH cells give 10 to 12 hours of play time. I think there's an AV out mod for it, or maybe that's the Game Gear I'm thinking of. Matter of fact, it is.

You do realize, though, that when the resolution is increased, your Lynx games are gonna look horrible. I played STUN Runner under emulation on a 19 inch screen and it was pretty ugly. On the Lynx, however, it looks fine.
