doctor_x
Does anyone know if there were any apps written by the scene, for the scene as far as file xfer apps go? By this i mean things like disk communicators, BBS type programs, term programs, etc? Obviously there are plenty of apps for the Atari that did these things.. I'm asking pointedly about applications that were written specifically for software piracy/trading warez.. There are quite a few like this that were written for the C64 - which led me to wonder if there were any for Atari8..
deathtrappomegranate
Apparently this site has recently been started in an attempt to get that kind of stuff together. It seems that you have to register to see what's there, though, and I haven't, so I don't know how far they've got.
doctor_x
thats my site actually... its more for hacking/phreaking software rather than what i was asking about..
Shawn Jefferson
There was Disk Communicator 3, of course. That was huge, since you could "zip up" whole disks.

I thought it was a coincidence that your post appeared just after that site was announced!
www.atarimania.com
Phew... For a moment, I thought you had some contagious form of carmel_andrewsitis... Doctor_X, I'm fairly sure you can find some of these programs on Bellcom disks. -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
S1500
Wasn't there Copy 2 Plus? Forgot if it was for DOS or Apple.
+bf2k+
I think I used Copy2Plus on Apple ][ systems. Had a Copy 2 Option board for my old IBM PC. In fact I think I still have that board somewhere.
