flashjazzcat
What's the best way to establish whether a MyDOS disk is single or double density? The SIO Status command? I need something which will work with RAMdisks, too; I'm basically taking the sector count from an Atari DOS 2.5/MyDOS directory listing, turning it into a double-byte hex value, then multiplying it by 128 or 256 to give the actual length of a file. SDX has a disk info command which you can issue from CIO: I'm sure we can assume a DOS 2.5 disk has 128 bytes (actually 125 of data) per sector, but MyDOS could be either, and I'm not aware of it having a "get disk info" command. Mathy
Hello flashjazzcat You can use the Get Percom block command. But you have to do an actual read before you can be sure the data sent back is right. greetings Mathy

Thanks! The Percom block is what I was trying to remember... it's been a long, long time since I did any SIO programming.
