potatohead
What's a good reference speed for data transfer over the joystick ports? Also, I've been watching the SIO activity. That's damn fast! Here's the idle thought. I've been working with some graphics tech that's dirt cheap, simple and that operates over either an 8 bit parallel data bus, or serially. Would a graphics handler, similar to the 80 column text handler have any potential? Say as a second screen, or to operate a game, or something with the Atari machines? What of a device that plugged into the SIO chain, or into the joystick port that could display lots of good stuff? Somewhere around NES capability? Think COL 80, with colors, sprites and speed. Just curious what people think of the idea. Edited May 16, 2009 by potatohead
