Well, I'm not really interested in RAM upgrades, and since the STEs tend to go for a fair bit, I think I'll go for a 1040STFM. You might want to hold that thought. If you are planning to use floppies for everything then yes a 1mb ST should be enough. But if you plan to get a HD solution and load games from that then a RAM upgrade is essential. I remember downloading a hard drive image that was fully bootable in any ST emulator and it had a bunch of games installed. Does anyone have that hard drive image? I just fiddled with my 1040 and midi, plus I had some monochrome games that were absolutely sufficient for my needs - well, they still are, although I sometimes play other things as well now.
