Ninja Golf: Who owns the IP?

I'm also curious to see the XE and even 2600 versions of Ninja Golf, though I've also questioned the (at the time) marketing strategy of having the same game on three different systems.

 

But then again we now have games for Xbox One|S|X as well for the PS4|5...

It may be the Crossbow for the 2600, XE, and 7800 strategy.

Or the Desert Falcon for the 2600, XE, and 7800 strategy.

Actually many games were in development for all three systems at the time if you look at part lists.  Although usually only one or two were released.  Xenophobe, Crack'ed, Jinks, Ikari Warriors, Commando, Crossbow, etc.

Absolutely.  Part of the reason why some 7800 games ended up being short-changed one way or another. 

Controls for Kung-Fu Master - exactly like the 1 button controller 2600 port.

Yep! The programmer said he did the game for the 2600 first and then added improved graphics for the 7800 "remaster".  Makes since since the ST based SKU makes both 2600 & 7800 games.

 

Now to figure out why the same devs port 7800 games over to the XEGS, same 6502 code but the XE graphics are different from the 7800's.  Same analogy as the current PC vs. console platforms?
