ATARIPITBULL
The real question is did the artist get paid twice for his work.
+Mitch
Yeah, I remember that from the old days. Wasn't Solaris originally going to be a sequel to Star Raiders? Mitch

Nukey Shay
Yeah, I remember that from the old days. Wasn't Solaris originally going to be a sequel to Star Raiders? It is the followup to Star Raiders. Same Federation, same evil Zylons. But it didn't start that way. The program was originally going to be the 2600 port of "The Last Starfighter". When the licensing deal with Lorimar fell through (due to the planned arcade game being axed due to it's high pricetag), Atari was stuck with the 2600 and 8-bit ports of that game already in development. Both games were released as "official" sequel games to Star Raiders instead. The 2600 game has the distinction of being programmed by Doug Neubauer (who wrote the original Star Raiders game while the 8-bit computers were being developed). Red 5
Wow! Never noticed that either. That's pretty funny that most of us never made that connection.
