Original Activision Release Dates...

Klove

Recommended Posts

I can remember when Dolphin hit the stores along with Keystone Kapers, and Oink!(April '83). Plaque Attack had not been released at the time. Seaquest came out before Plaque Atteck. I'm getting these timelines right out of "Activisions" spring '83 vol. 6. What about some of the other dates I asked about in my previous post in this thread? I would like to see the list be perfect. I am proud of all the Activision titles! 8)

Instead of making a post that I won't be able to edit later, I made a page at my web site that has the Klove list on it. I added notes next to most entries that confirm or question the dates:

I am left to wonder why this Activision Release Dates list includes the late acquired and re-titled Absolute games Pete Rose Baseball (which became simply Baseball under Activision) and Skate Boardin', but does not include Tomcat F-14 Fighter Simulator (which became simply Fighter Pilot under Activision).

This brings up a question I have about Activision's Fighter Pilot.  I have never seen this game come up on eBay as anything other than a loose cartridge.  Looking over at the Atarimania.com website, I see the associated box that Fighter Pilot was presumably released with looks exactly like the game box the original Absolute released version came in.  Is this the only game box Activision's Fighter Pilot was released in, or does there also exist a game box (and possibly a game manual) for Fighter Pilot that Activision decided to put their name on?

I have been searching for a box and manual with Activision's name on it for Fighter Pilot for a long, long time.  Am I looking for something that never existed?
