4Ks
I think it would be a good idea to have a Super Nintendo HSC. I could moderate it, since I have a lot of free time in the day. So how about it?
darthkur
That would be fine with me. You might want to pose this question in the Classic Gaming General forum though in order to get a few more responses.

4Ks
there are snes games that keep score? Yeah, there are plenty that have score, like Super Mario World, Zoop, and Q*bert 3.
Tempest
I could moderate it Hahahahahaha... No. Tempest
+Psionic
there are snes games that keep score? My thoughts exactly. There are barely enough score-driven NES games to necessitate having a HSC, nevermind SNES. There are certainly games that "keep score", but the overwhelming majority of SNES games are action/adventure-style games. And sure, there are lots of arcade titles that keep score, but in most of them (SF II) the score is unimportant.

Then how 'bout when a game doesn't go by points, we go by who can get to the farthest level
the.golden.ax
I scored with a SNES once. AX
Herbarius
What do you think about having an "Others HSC", which might include suitable games from SNES, Amiga, C64, PC MS-DOS, ... just everything which doesn't warrant its own HSC. roadrunner
How about a Gameboy/Color High Score Club? Or it is possible somebody could bring back the SEGA Master System and Turbografx 16 High Score Clubs?
jd_1138
I like to play Atari Arcade Classics and Williams Arcade Classics on the SNES (Joust, Asteroids, Missile Command, Sinistar), and those games definitely have scores. I'd like to try to set some high scores for the SNES.

toptenmaterial
In terms of Super Mario World, what would be the perimeters? How are high score contests done with newer, non-linier platformers? I'll say this much: I'll wreck ANYONE at SMW!
Jr. Pac
How 'bout Ms. Pac-Man?
4Ks
How 'bout Ms. Pac-Man? A. For the love of humanity, no necrobumps! B. Since Tempest has made it clear that he doesn't think silly little 14-year-old me could possibly moderate a high score club, you can bet this won't be happening. At least, not for a long time. toptenmaterial
You do not need permission to hold your own high score club. You will need approval to get it pinned- but there is not reason you couldn't hold a contest. I held a successful contest in March and am running one right now. The point is that you will achieve legitimacy through participation. Focus on a game- you pick the game- and decide what parameters or challanges you are adding. HSC? Speed run? Then add a time limit- I've been running my contests for one month max. Best of luck!
